Safety
Safety is of utmost importance to Gaffin Industrial
services. Over the past few years we have developed a comprehensive waterblasting
and vacuuming safety program for our employees. With advice from safety
consultants, as well as workers compensation experts, we have put together
a strong safety program that is monitored by our safety
manager. The following is a list of the in-house safety programs that
each employee is required to complete:

Safety Manager
Our Safety Mangager, is fully trained in MSHA,
OSHA, Waterblast, and Vacuum.
The Safety Manager has the following responsibilities:
- On-site monitoring of job safety. The Safety Manager rotates through
all Jobs to make sure violations are recorded and corrected. All violations
are logged and reviewed by the Gaffin Industrial management team. Any
violation by a Gaffin Industrial employee is placed in their file and
the appropriate disciplinary action is taken
- The safety manager is responsible for verifying that the tailgate
safety meeting was held. This is done by reviewing the safety checklist
(included with the job ticket).
- Meet with the on site customer safety person and review site rules
and regulations.
- Check in with plant job supervisor, review potential safety hazards,
request MSDS sheets etc.
- Update and improve the job safety meeting and checklist. Check with
the job designated safety person for safety accountability.
- Ensure that the job ticket safety checklist is being used properly
and signed off.
- Keep track of the latest OSHA/MSHA policies and changes Update the
Gaffin Industrial safety manual with new policies.
- Ensure that all Gaffin Industrial personnel have been trained and
tested in all Gaffin Industrial safety policies and procedures.
- Keep up with the latest innovations in safety. In fact our safety
manager is participating in weekly classes being held on the USF campus.
- Maintain a strong relationship with the Water Jet Technology Association
